Blessed with natural springs, Corinth is located on the isthmus which connects mainland Greece with the Peloponnese and is surrounded by fertile plains. Olympia is an ancient site on Greece's Peloponnese peninsula and is the birthplace of the Olympic Games in the 8th century B.C. The extensive ruins include athletic training areas, a stadium and temples dedicated to the gods Zeus and Hera. Olympia’s Archaeological Museum exhibits finds from the site which includes a statue of Hermes by the sculptor, Praxiteles
