What does my policy need to cover?

How do I find out about the visa requirements for the trip I am interested in?
W.P.-Holiday Solutions recommends that travelers check with their local embassy as visa rules can change without warning. Embassy sites in your home country will always have information about requirements, visa costs and will provide the required forms.

Please contact the relevant local embassy to organize your visa/s.

Safety and medical information

I am concerned about the political stability of the country through which my trip will travel.
The safety of our passengers, leaders and operators is a major priority for W.P.-Holiday Solutions. With this in mind, we monitor world events very closely and W.P.-Holiday Solutions makes operational decisions based on informed advice from a number of sources. We will either cancel the W.P.-Holiday Solutions operated tour or reroute the itinerary to avoid the areas concerned.

How safe are my belongings while touring?
While W.P.-Holiday Solutions takes all the needed precautions to make sure your belongings are safe, we will travel to some places that are sometimes home to some pretty skilled thieves. Travel insurance is a must and a lockable bag or money belt will always help too!

What is the best way to carry money?
We recommend having access to money from a variety of sources – cash, cards and travel money cards are all commonly used.

Will refrigeration be available for medicines? e.g. Insulin
Refrigeration availability cannot be guaranteed. As a general rule, many of our city hotels provide access to small fridges; however, outside of this, especially when trekking or in homestay environments, you cannot rely on access to refrigeration. Please be sure to inform W.P.-Holiday Solutions if you are traveling with medication that requires refrigeration.

Are there medical and vaccination requirements?
Medical and vaccination requirements are different between countries and as we are not medical practitioners, we unfortunately cannot advise on this issue. Please see your doctor for details and advice about current vaccination requirements.

What if I get ill or injured on the trip and unable to continue?
Our guides are trained to deal with these situations and we will try to get you help as quickly as possible. If you must leave the trip early due to illness, our local offices will assist you to find appropriate medical care and ensure someone at home is aware of the situation. We will do whatever we can to get you home or to continue on your journey. Your travel insurance, which is compulsory on all our tours, should cover any costs incurred if illness occurs.

What should I bring?

What type of luggage do you recommend I take?
On most W.P.-Holiday Solutions tours you will be required to carry your own luggage, sometimes up stairs and on and off
transport. We therefore recommend you bring only the essentials for your convenience.

Will I be able to store excess luggage at the starting point hotel?
Most starting point hotels can hold your excess luggage for you; however, this is at your own risk. Sometimes a small fee is charged for this service. Of course, this is only an advantage if your tour will end at the same hotel.

What kind of clothes and footwear should I take on treks?
On a more physical trip, hiking boots are definitely recommended. Otherwise, comfortable walking shoes or sneakers are advised. Please also check before traveling for local weather conditions to know what type of clothes are suitable.

On your trip

Arrival information

What time can I check in at my arrival hotel?
Check-in times can be different from hotel to hotel and region to region. Generally, they are between 12pm. and 2pm. If you happen arrive earlier, you’ll be able to store your luggage at the hotel and head out to venture on your own for a couple of hours.

Can I request an early check-in?
We cannot confirm an early check-in, but our W.P.-Holiday Solutions team can help you book a night of pre accommodation at the same hotel. If you don’t want to pay for the extra night, you can try your luck locally (they may let you in early if the room is free) or you can store your luggage.

Activities

Can I opt out of certain activities if I want to?
If you wish not to participate in certain activities, that is OK. The only exception to this is when we are traveling or trekking from one destination to the next. If you choose to opt out of and activiity that is included, you will not be reimbursed by W.P.-Holiday Solutions.

Is there any free time?
W.P.-Holiday Solutions encourages its travelers to explore at their own pace. We will give you options of what there is to do.

What if I arrive late and miss part of the trip?
Contact W.P.-Holiday Solutions if you know in advance that you will arrive late. We will give you the information and we will leave instructions at the hotel’s reception for where to meet your group that night or the next morning.
If you are late due to unforeseen circumstances or flight delays, please call the emergency contact number we will provide you. W.P.-Holiday Solutions cannot reimburse you for any portion of the trip unused, but this can often be claimed on your travel insurance.

Accommodation

Can you provide me a list of places we are staying at?
Yes, of course. The list will be included in your itinerary once your tour is booked.

What standard of accommodation should I expect?
The standard of accommodation depends on the Trip Style you have chosen.

Is accommodation air-conditioned/ heated?
We want our clients to be as comfortable as possible so when you are headed to a hotter climate, it is likely that you will either have a fan or air-con.

Keeping in touch with home

Will I be able to communicate with family and friends?
Many hotels and public places now have WiFi so you will be able to keep in touch. In remote places like the Sahara, it might not be as easy. Your guide will usually let you know before you leave a place so you can send an email or two. Phone cards are easy to get but you need to make sure your phone is unlocked before you travel. There are also internet cafes in some places.

How can friends and family contact you?
If your family or friends cannot contact you in an emergency by phone or email, they can get in touch with W.P.-Holiday Solutions directly.
Emergency contact details will be provided at booking confirmation.

Will my mobile work?
Mobile phones may not work in some of the out of the way destinations because of low coverage. Call your phone provider before you leave to get their advice on coverage and costs. Sim cards can be purchased cheaply – just make sure your phone is unlocked.

Will I get internet coverage?
Some places have Wi-Fi hot spots everywhere and other places will have no coverage at all. If you stumble into the latter, take the rare chance to just sit back and get to know your fellow travelers the old-fashioned way.

Will I be able to charge my electrical appliances?
In most places you will be able to recharge your appliances at the hotel (mobile phone, lap top, etc). We advise you bring a travel adapter with you. On our land trips, most vehicles come with their own power supply and you should be able to recharge there. Be sure to bring an extra camera battery just in case.

Transport

What type of ground transportation is used?
If it moves there’s a good chance you’ll be riding on it. The type of transport used depends on your trip style.

Tipping information

Is tipping commonplace in other parts of the world?
In most places tipping is expected. Ask your guide about the local custom and advice on how much is recommended at restaurants, hotels, etc.
At the end of your tour, if you’re happy with the service you received, a tip is appropriate but not compulsory. We hope that W.P.-Holiday Solutions satisfied your expectations and hope that we can be of service for your future travels.

Website problems

What do I do if I am unable to open a link on the W.P.-Holiday Solutions website?
If there is a problem with our web site, please contact us and we will get to the issues as soon as possible.
